We’ve begun our new series in Exodus – Awakening. It should be an exciting journey, filled with more than a few encounters with a God who continues to surprise, frustrate, and ultimately redeem.
Below is a quote from Tim Keller. It was used last Sunday evening to kick-off the Awakening series.
One of the signs that you may not grasp the unique, radical nature of the gospel is that you are certain that you do. Sometimes longtime church members find themselves so struck and turned around by a fresh apprehension of the Christian message that they feel themselves to have been essentially – ‘re-converted.’
Our hope is that through Exodus, all of us will be “struck and turned around by a fresh apprehension” of who God is and what God is up to in our lives and this world. That is why the series is called, “Awakening.” We hope that that “fresh apprehension” will be something of an awakening for us as we encounter a new depth and richness to our God and what that means for our following Him.
