Important Notes
- As we near the 27th, you will receive an email with your specific housing assignments.
- Rides – Feel free to carpool! In fact, please do! Let Karen know if you are willing to drive or are seeking a ride.
- All meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – are covered. All houses will be stocked for breakfast. Lunches will include a spread of lunch meats, toppings, breads, chips etc… and dinners will be delicious!
- As we near the 27th, we’ll need to know whether or not you will be able to make the Friday evening dinner – this will help us know how much food to get. It will be a casual dinner served for all those who can make it by 9pm.
- For game night – if you’re a game person, bring some of your favorites! We’ll have plenty of folks looking to play.
- The beach – don’t forget to bring chairs, games etc… for your time at the beach, we’ll have plenty of time there!
- No Last Call on May 29th since so many of us we’ll be on this retreat.

Must haves for the YA Beach Retreat
Bring Your Own…
- Bible: you’re going to need this during our sessions
- Bathing suit: you’re going to need this during free time to spend at the beach (and you don’t want to share!)
- Beach blanket/towel: the houses will have linens for the beds, but there won’t be enough towels for showers and there are none supplied for the beach, so bring your own so you are ready
- Sunblock: we’re praying for sun but not burns, so come prepared!
- Beach books, bocce, balls: Saturday afternoon is yours for fun in the sand, so bring your leisure reads, footballs, frisbees, bocce, or whatever else you think would be fun
- Bath time supplies: periodically you will want to freshen up, don’t forget a bath towel
- Beach umbrellas and tents: if you have one that you would like to bring and share, by all means, go ahead
- Board games: for a little friendly competition in the evenings
- Bongos: or any musical instrument if you want to join a jam session
- Bikes: if you are inclined to explore with this mode of transportation
- Beer: you’re payment for the weekend includes meals, but it’s BYOB (and snacks) to enjoy during free time (see following note on alcohol)
- Big smiles: you’re going to the beach for a weekend of fellowship and fun with awesome people, should be no problem!
What you won’t need to bring…
- Bedding: unless you have been specifically told otherwise, you will be sleeping in a bed which has linens supplied by the beach house
A note on alcohol:
As with last year, alcohol is certainly allowed. A simple reminder up front: we are the body of Christ and our witness to outsiders and among one another matters. Don’t compromise that by equating ‘beach retreat’ with ‘beach party.’ Last year we had no problems – let’s keep it that way! A simple rule of thumb: Don’t show up to our common gatherings with a buzz.
