This November 21st, we celebrate “Christ the King/Reign of Christ” Sunday. Check out this incredible video put together by “Random Acts of Culture” where dozens of choirs simultaneously break out into the Hallelujah Chorus in the middle of a Philadelphia mall. The scene beautifully captures what we affirm on ”Christ the King” Sunday - in every corner of creation (whether we recognize it or not) - from the distant galaxies to the mall to our job and even in our hearts (if we’ll allow it) - Jesus Christ reigns with a wondrous, expansive love. Sometimes creative expressions like this video help us see past the facade of advertisement and into the true reality: Christ has reigned, does reign, and he shall reign forever and ever. Which means what truly matters is that we join in on that song.
